So three years up here in the Panhandle of Florida it took my primary, Dr. Lops to rule out other disorders/syndromes etc before sending me to a specialist. Three years total of having blood work and evals before my primary sent me off to a specialist. See the doc go get blood drawn, wait for it to return then back to the doc for eval and discuss the results of that blood work then more blood work to rule something else out. You would think the phlebotomist could draw all they need to begin with instead of me being stuck every three months for three years.
Honestly I was tiring of all this rather quickly yet we had to follow protocol. I was 98% certain what I had was Fibromyalgia and shared my thoughts with my primary doc. I really appreciate her thoroughness and the fact she listens and lets me try things my way (alternatives/natural methods) as opposed to taking a prescription. Many times some simple changes do work. If they do not then I will begrudgingly take a Rx.
My specialist, Dr. Orth, in Pensacola is amazing. I saw her for the first time and instantly loved her for her manner and thoroughness. She is the one who confirmed the Fibromyalgia diagnosis after a through exam and eval and of course the vamp struck again for a complete panel.
I was also referred to a local Chiropractor, Dr. Heather Hankinson. Although the insurance I have only takes care of manual manipulations it does help a great deal.
I have an Outstanding Care Team!
Walk in peace and balance,
Elizabeth
