Share the blessing

A day of thanks a day of giving, a day for giving thanks that really should be year round. A day many folks are up at dawn preparing baked goods and starting the turkey, preparing goodies for the dessert table. Traditions adhered to and new traditions made for some families.
The time to feast arrives and thanks is offered up by some then mouths and bellies are filled and stuffed until ready to pop.
Eyes still glisten at the thought of just one more brownie or piece of pumpkin pie a la mode yet reserved for later when room is made in stomach once the gastronomical feast digests.
All parties retreat to the sitting room and for some it is television time, games are on and silence observed unless a commercial is on. Some families board games are tradition after the holiday meal.
Sadly over the years families and traditions have changed their courses and fewer gather for meals any longer. Fights ensue over whose house to gather at and what to bring or who is allowed and who is not.
Gratefulness, we should reflect the attitude of gratitude daily to all, not just on a holiday.
Sharing, caring, love, gratitude, friendship and more....
While you go about enjoying your plump turkeys, your holiday hams, whipped potatoes with butter, sweet yams, cranberry sauce, cakes and pies....Remember those less fortunate and if you are able to, set an extra place at your table for one who would otherwise be alone that day.
*Help your local food bank by donating food, pick up something extra when you grocery shop when you can.
If your church has a food pantry, help by donating something there
Help out at the local soup kitchens - they can always use volunteers to help feed those who are hungry.

Peace Love and Light
